Built-In Bluetooth
The AVH-P3300BT allows safe, simple, hands-free calling and receiving with most Bluetooth wireless-enabled cell phones. Just touch the cell phone icon in the receiver display for direct access to the Bluetooth display. This receiver allows rear seat passengers to enjoy DVD or CD content via additional rear screens and headphones, even while the front passenger and driver operate navigation or listen to audio from other sources simultaneously.
Auto EQ
It's difficult to reproduce music well in a car, because speaker positioning is constrained by interior space and other conditions. These limitations can lead to sound phase distortion, as well as speaker sound reflection against glass and absorption by dashboard and seats. Pioneer's unique Auto EQ feature tailors specific musical characteristics according to your taste, and uses a microphone (the optional CD-M20) to monitor and analyze acoustics, then automatically fine-tunes all frequency bandwidths using front and rear speaker digital parametric equalization. It's similar to the setup feature on many home theaters, and will let you dial things in just right for your vehicle.
Sonic Center Control
More audio obsessiveness from Pioneer--unless a listener is perfectly centered in a car cabin, sound heard from some speakers will lag compared to the sound heard from other speakers. This result in unfocused soundstage and instable frequency characteristics. Sonic Center Control remedies this by adjusting frequency phase and acoustic characteristics by up to 15 steps, providing a clearer, focused soundstage.
Advanced Sound Retreiver
Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity that the artist originally wanted you to hear from compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files stored on disc, USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology restores data (especially high-frequency data) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process.

For the Money, It's Worth It! : Pioneer AVH-P3300BT 5.8-Inch DVD AV Bluetooth Receiver with iPod/iPhone Control
I'm not one to normally leave reviews (although I do depend on them heavily), but the Pioneer 3300BT has absolutely been the best choice I've made in upgrading both my car (2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt) and my wife's car (2004 Toyota Corolla) and I feel that I must share my initial impressions after recently installing them.
Installation: If you know how to use crimps and electrical tape, and you aren't colorblind, it should be pretty straight forward. Buy the proper wiring harnesses for your vehicle and everything pretty much matches color for color (Note, for Mustangs with the Mach Audio systems, make sure you buy the harness with the RCA inputs for the subwoofer in order to power the external amps driving the mids/lows). I decided to also install the video bypass (12 volt relays) on both systems and it worked flawlessly. It should go without saying, but just make sure you have everything properly grounded before installing... Otherwise, your shiny new Pioneer won't turn on at all and you'll be staring at a heavy paperweight until you figure it out.
Bluetooth: On our iPhone 4's, the Bluetooth works flawlessly syncing with our contacts, and sounds great for both parties on the call. I've never tried it with an Android phone, so I can't comment if it works well with it or not, but it's darn near flawless with our iPhone 4's. We did sync a blackberry for work, and although it didn't pair as easily as the iPhone, it did finally work. The external mic is somewhat bigger than I was expecting, but it sounds great and can be nearly completely hidden depending on where you install it, so it's nothing to be worried about.
iPhone/iPod: As an iPhone owner, this stereo should be a must have. I purchased this unit b/c I could not find a better unit that works so well with my iPhone and it came with a well-regarded Bluetooth module. I didn't need navigation since I already have several navigation apps on my iPhone that will work great on this unit. Music from your iPhone syncs within seconds -- you can view by playlist, album, artist, song, etc. It just simply works, and it's easy to use. The Pandora app is actually more interesting than I thought it would be. The only slightly annoying thing is that you have to launch the Pandora app on your iPhone before everything syncs with the Pandora app on the head unit, but once it's launched it's pretty slick.
DVD Player / SD Slot: I haven't tried the SD card slot yet, but it just works so well with the iPhone (and keeps it charged) that I don't really see the need to use it. The DVD player works just like it should: menus, titles, chapters, etc. are very accessible and easy to use. Again, recommend getting a video bypass cable installed for those times when your passengers may want to watch a movie on a long trip. ;-)
Also, it's briefly mentioned in the manual, but if you want to watch video on this unit from your iPhone, you will need at minimum the Pioneer CD-IU50V cable. There is a CD-IU51V cable out there that will work as well, but the IU50V DOES work (I purchased it and can confirm on both units I own that you DO NOT need the more expensive IU51V). Shop around and you can find the IU50V for approx. $30... be wary of the fake ones out there that don't do video. If you don't care about video, though, a standard iPhone/iPod USB cable works just fine and it still charges your device. However, I do recommend you get that cable if only for the fact you can now watch Netflix and view any other app onto the Pioneer's screen itself in App mode. That's right, if you really want to play Angry Birds on this screen, it is possible... It may not be practical, but it is possible. it's pretty cool to see your entire iPhone screen being displayed on your dash. Btw, the Netflix app works really well on this unit... almost seems like it should have been a built in app like Pandora.
Screen Quality: In most conditions the screen looks very great and is quite responsive. Granted, the iPhone 4 has a much better pixel density and multi-touch response even at nearly half the size, but the Pioneer unit still looks very sharp and responds to touch very well. If the sun is setting directly behind you, the screen can become fairly difficult to see, but that's probably true of any screen like this. If you don't want a screen to become washed out in the sunlight, stick to something that doesn't have a screen, or don't drive at sunrise/sunset. :-)
Sound quality: It makes stock speakers sound way better than they probably should. Both the Bullitt and the Corolla sound tremendously better than they use to. You can tweak the equalizer settings to several presets or to one of the two available custom settings to your liking. There's really no need to purchase new speakers with this unit unless you really want to spend the money on upgrading everything.
Overall Impression: Fantastic purchase!!! I have been ecstatic since getting this installed in both of our cars. I actually look forward to longer drives now that we have this unit. Shop around for the best prices... I purchased both units, the wiring harnesses, video bypass cables, and CD-IU50V all for less than $800 total. I couldn't be happier with our decision.
